St. Dominic's News

St. Dominic’s U8s & U10s played St. Faithleachs at home on Friday 29th August. There was a great turnout of girls and they all played superbly. Well done to Rachel Corcoran who did an excellent job refereeing the game. The U8s and U10s next games are away to Clann na nGael on Wednesday 3rd September.

The U14s played their third game in the U14 Championship on Sunday 31st August against Clann na nGael away. The last time these two sides met was in the U14 League Division 1 County Final last June where Dominic’s took the title with a 4 point margin. Sunday’s clash was another exciting battle. Both sides settled quickly while St. Dominic’s scored first with a well taken point from play. The score at half time was Dominic’s 1-06 to Clann’s 0-3. The second half was equally exciting and competitive as the first with the final score St. Dominic’s 4-11 to Clann na nGael 1-10. The U14s next game is the Championship Semi Final – opposition, location and time to be confirmed later.

St. Dominic’s Juniors played their outstanding Championship Round 4 game against Four Roads on Sunday 31st August in Four Roads. This game was originally scheduled to be played on Friday 19th July but had to be abandoned due to a waterlogged Four Roads pitch. Sunday’s game was a close contest which ended Four Roads 2-06 to St. Dominic’s 0-8.
