St Patrick's Ladies Juvenile Presentation

Over 100 people turned out on Saturday Evening last (7th march to see the girls of St Patrick’s GAA Club recognised for their hard work and efforts for their 2008 Season.

Veronica Leonard, St Patrick’s Ladies Officer welcomed Lorna Fuiscardi and Laurie Ahearne from Wicklow Ladies Senior Football, Wicklow County Footballer and Irish International Rules Representative Leighton Glynn, Gary Duffy St Patrick’s Senior Player and Club Coach and St Patrick’s Club Chairperson Michael Dwyer.

Ladies Club Chairperson, Alan Smullen thanked all the Coaches and Team Managers for their time and effort that they had all put into the club from the Nursery Level, through Under 10’s, 12’s 14’s & 16’s.

The Club going into its 5th year in Adult Football and 4th year in Juvenile boast 5 Ladies Football Teams.

The girls attending the Nursery received Certificates from Ladies Senior Captain AnneMarie Manning for the participation in the Football Academy. The Under 10 Girls were presented Medals by Gary Duffy for their participation in Ladies Go Game Blitzes.

The U12 Girls received their Championship Finalist Medals from Club and County Player Orla Redmond. Whilst the Under 14 Girls were presented their Leinster Feile Medals by Leighton Glynn and their County A Shield Finalist Medals by Laurie Ahearne.

The Highlight of the night was the U16 Awards. The Girls won the B Championship with a hard fought final with Coolkenno after extra time in December. All 18 girls received their medals from Lorna Fuiscardi who also presented the Cup to the Winning Captain Laura Manley.

Stephen McNulty, Juvenile Registrar Thanked All, who helped turn it into a successful evening and wished all the Teams, Good Luck for 2009.

The Girls have now won a Trophy each year for the last 3 years and are growing from strength to strength.

The Ladies Football Academy caters for all girls from the ages of 4 to 16, and runs every Saturday from 11.00am to 12.00 on the Dunbur Road, Wicklow.
