Dr. Siobhain McArdle and I (Aoife Cunningham) from Dublin City University are conducting a research study as part of an undergraduate sports science and health degree aimed at exploring the attitudes of sport based professionals towards players with mental health problems. Ethical approval has been received for this study from the DCU School of Health and Human Performance Research Ethics Committee (Ref: SHHPREC/2013/016) To achieve the aim of this study we are asking GAA managers and coaches to fill in a short on-line survey. The survey will include two scenarios describing athletes with different mental health issues, followed by questions that explore attitudes to various mental health problems in sport. This survey should take no more than 10 minutes to complete.
