Ladies Gaelic stars of tomorrow gathered in Croke Park yesterday ahead of their Tesco Junior Post Primary Schools All Ireland Finals which take place on Saturday 31st March. Schools from Tipperary, Tyrone, Galway, Wexford and Dublin have reached the 2012 Tesco Post Primary School Junior All Ireland Finals. In the Junior A Championship final Loreto Omagh take on Coláiste Dun Iascaigh of Tipperary. Loreto had a convincing win over Galway’s Glenamaddy NS to book their spot in the A final while Coláiste Dun Iascaigh ensured their advancement with a five goal blitz against St Leo’s of Carlow. The Junior B Championship final sees Scoil Bhride Mercy, Tuam pitted against Dublin’s Coláiste Íosagáin. Scoil Bhride powered past Donegal’s Moville netting five times to reach the final while Coláiste Íosagáin overcame the challenge of Waterford’s St Augustine’s after extra time to book their spot in the final The Junior C Championship final will feature St Mary’s New Ross and Dunmore Community School, Galway. Dunmore posted an impressive 4-14 to 2-3 victory to advance their chances of All Ireland glory while St Mary’s outscored Loreto, Clonmel 3-6 to 2-6 at the semi-final stage. Sport has a major role in society and plays an integral part in the social and educational lives of our students. It requires a phenomenal input and effort from many people in reaching today’s Tesco All Ireland finals to successfully balance both academic and sporting commitments.
