TG4 Intermediate Senior Semi-Final, Monaghan v Dublin:

Monaghan were beaten finalists last time round and for 40 minutes they had the champions rattled.

The Farney girls had a slow start to the Championship but have benefited from the qualifier route and have improved with each outing.

Edel Byrne and Aoife McAnespie are two star turns for Monaghan while Niamh Kindlon will keep the scoreboard ticking over.

The Jackies are an anomaly. They have beaten Cork a number of times over the last three years yet they have consistently failed to transfer those performances into crunch Championship games.

Lyndsey Davey and Sinead Ahern will lead the line for the Dubs but the influence of goalkeeper Cliodhna O’Connor may prove decisive.

TG4 Intermediate Championship Semi-Final, Longford v Fermanagh:

Longford topped Group B drawing their opening game against Roscommon but recovering to record impressive wins over Kilkenny, Waterford and Westmeath.

The experienced Sharon Treacy will drive the Longford play while Edel Quinn will pose problems upfront.

Fermanagh were also unbeaten in the group stages picking up a win over Wexford and drawing with both Clare and Cavan.

Full forward Caroline Little is a real danger in front of goal but the Ernesiders may struggle against Longford’s greater experience at this level.
