Cian’s Kennels, an Irish charity providing comfort to seriously ill children through continued connection with their beloved pets, is proud to announce a new charity partnership with the Westmeath Ladies Gaelic Football team. This meaningful collaboration will see the Westmeath Ladies using their platform to raise awareness and vital funds for Cian’s Kennels, helping to expand the charity’s unique services across Ireland. Throughout the season, the team will promote fundraising initiatives, participate in community outreach events, and proudly wear the Cian’s Kennels logo to champion the cause. “We are honoured to be working with the incredible athletes of Westmeath Ladies Football,” said Evelyn Neary, founder of Cian’s Kennels and mother of the late Cian Neary, in whose memory the charity was established. “Cian loved animals and sport. This partnership is a beautiful reflection of both, and a powerful way to honour his legacy.” Cian’s Kennels works closely with hospitals and pet services to keep children connected with their pets during hospital stays, offering transportation, boarding, and visitation support. Fiona Coyle, Captain of the Westmeath Ladies added, “Westmeath Ladies are absolutely thrilled to partner with Cian’s Kennels. The vital work they are doing for sick children and their families is truly inspiring. It’s a privilege to be able to help in such a meaningful way, raising awareness, bringing joy and a sense of hope to children facing tough health battles. We look forward to many exciting opportunities ahead and we encourage all to get involved and help make a real difference in the lives of those who need it most. Chairperson of Westmeath LGFA said “Westmeath LGFA are thrilled & excited to partner with Cian’s kennels. This is a very special & worthy charity that brings that little bit of extra comfort and joy to sick & hospitalised children. In today’s world where vulnerable sick children are in the news regarding concerns for their care & medical needs, I am delighted that our senior county panel have taken this initiative & opportunity to support Cian’s Kennels by bringing their pets closer to sick children & their families.
