Ciara Hanahoe is the Lucozade Sport/Irish Independent Player of the Month for June.

Hanahoe has been collecting awards for fun this season. To date she has received a Connacht Post Primary School All Star and last month picked up the Player of the Match award for her performance in the Connacht Championship semi-final against Sligo.

The defender has been outstanding for both Mayo and her club Knockmore all season,

making life difficult for the opposition attack while also contributing to her own team’s scoring tally with her prolific free taking.

Having won the Connacht Championship earlier this month, Ciara and Mayo now turn their attention to the All-Ireland Championship which they will be hoping to win for the first time since 2003.
