Places Available for the Paídi Ó Sé Tournament!

There are still a limited number of places available for the Paídi Ó’Sé tournament which is in it’s 26th year and is going from strength to strength every year with men’s and ladies teams coming from all over Ireland and the UK to compete.

The tournament will take place from Friday 20th to Sunday 22nd February. More than 36 teams men’s and ladies between Junior, Intermediate and Senior grades will play competitive matches against each other in sports grounds surrounding the Dingle Peninsula.

On arrival the Friday night, all teams will register at the pub where there will be a BBQ provided at the marquee.  The team will then be shown to their accommodation and will get in a good rest.  The first games begin at 12:00pm on Saturday.  After the first game there will be soup and sandwiches provided at the nearby pub/restaurant.  The second game begins at 3:30pm.  For senior ladies the games are first round knockout. However if you lose your first game another can be arranged with another losing team.

On the Saturday night there will be a banquet where all players and management will get a meal.  This is then followed by entertainment and a disco ‘til late in the pubs beer garden and marquee.

On Sunday the ladies final begins at 12:00 pm followed by the men’s intermediate and senior final in the the An Ghaeltacht grounds.  After the games there will be presentation of awards where player’s of the tournament will be announced.  There will also be a photographic exhibition opened by a special guest.

There is an option to stay Sunday also where there will be more live entertainment.

There is an entry fee of  €150 per team , also prices vary from hotels to self catering houses but this can be discussed with Padraig Ó Sé, tournament organiser, padraig-is@hotmail.com.

In terms of rules it is 15 a side and 30 mins per half with regular rules.

Also if a player receives a red card he/she will receive a game suspension in the tournament.  But it won’t follow up to any other league or championship. However you are allowed to make as many subs as you want as there is a possibility a team will play 3 games in 2 days.

This could be a great start to your club year.
