Player of the Month for August
Niamh Kindlon is the Lucozade Sport/Irish Independent Player of the Month for August. The Maghercloone forward has played the ultimate captain’s role in Monaghan’s march to the TG4 Senior All Ireland final.

Kindlon scored eight points against Sligo in the Championship quarter-final before scoring seven points against Mayo at the semi-final stage to help her side to their first All Ireland final since 2002.

The former All Star is the creative driving force of this Farney team which will take on reigning All Ireland champions Cork in the final on the 28th September.

Speaking at the award presentation in Croke Park, Niamh said, “This award is a great honor but it must be attributed to the hard work and dedication of my teammates. It is a long time since we featured in the All Ireland final and there are still a few of us left from the 2002 squad. We have played very well as a team this year and will be firing on all cylinders come the 28th.”
