1st Year Clare Ladies Football Blitz

This tournament was due to be played last Wednesday 8^th of May but it was postponed due to a severe weather storm.  The first group was re-arranged for Monday the 13^th with Kilkee winning the group.  The second group matches were played on Wednesday the 15^th of May in Gurteen.   We were surprised that the condition of both fields in Gurteen was top class considering all the rain that fell over the past few days, great thanks is due to Joe McNamara groundsman.

Joe Reidy and Tony Henchy were the referees for the morning, and we thank them for making it an enjoyable event. We encountered sunshine and rain throughout the morning but all teams from what we saw enjoyed the tournament.  It was a first tournament for many of these girls so we look forward to their development over the next few years.  Colaiste Muire won all of their matches comfortably.  The final will be played in Milltown Malbay next Wednesday 22^nd of May 2013 starting at 11 O’Clock between today’s winners Colaiste Muire and Kilkee.  We wish both teams the best of luck.
