2017 TG4 Senior Championship Draw

The 2017 TG4 Senior Football Championship draw take place yesterday evening in Croke Park. The 5 teams that did not reach their provincial finals; Cork, Armagh, Cavan, Laois and Kildare were entered into the draw with the first two sides drawn set to play against each other in a preliminary round with the remaining three advancing directly to the qualifiers to play against one of the defeated provincial finalists.

Cavan and Laois will play in the opening TG4 Senior Championship match on July 22nd, the winner of that match will go on to play against the Munster Final Runners Up. Armagh will play against the loser of the Dublin versus Westmeath Leinster Final, whilst, in perhaps the tie of the round, Cork will take on Monaghan in the third qualifier. That Cork v Monaghan match will take place on the weekend of August 5th-7th with the other Senior championship match to be played that weekend being the meeting of Mayo and Kildare who were the final county pulled out of the draw.

July 22nd: Laois v Cavan

TG4 Senior Championship Qualifier Round:

Weekend 29/30th July: Qualifier 1: Runner Up Kerry/Waterford v Laois/Cavan

Weekend 29/30th July: Qualifier 2: Runner Up Dublin/Westmeath v Armagh

Weekend 5/7th August: Qualifier 3: Monaghan v Cork

Weekend 5/7th August: Qualifier 4: Mayo v Kildare

August 12th: Quarter Final 1: Winner Dublin/Westmeath v Winner Qualifier 1

August 12th: Quarter Final 2: Winner Kerry/Waterford v Winner Qualifier 2

August 19th: Quarter Final 3: Galway v Winner Cork/Monaghan

August 19th: Quarter Final 4: Donegal v Winner Kildare/Mayo

TG4 Senior Championship Semi Finals:

August 26th: Winner Quarter Final 1 v Winner Quarter Final 2

September 2nd: Winner Quarter Final 3 v Winner Quarter Final 4
