17 April 2015 4 Massive Games in TESCO National Football League Share this Article 0 0 0 Shares! 0 Shares! After a hectic weekend of action in Round 7 of the TESCO National League there are 4 more, highly significant, matches in Division’s 2,3 and 4 of the TESCO NFL this coming Sunday. In Division 4 we will have the two semi finals of the NFL as unbeaten Limerick meet Louth and Antrim take on Offaly. There are two big fixtures with a place in the finals at stake. Limerick will enter their semi final as favourites having enjoyed an unbeaten league campaign and they boast an impressive squad. Murroe Boher pair, Niamh Richardson and Aoife Meaner are an impressive midfield pairing but all eyes will be on former All Star Dymphna O’Brien who is a match winning presence in the inside forward line. Louth are also a good side that are yet to hit their full stride this season but they do boast players like Michelle McMahon, Grace Lynch and Kate Flood. The other semi final will feature an Antrim team that are determined to make amends for their defeat in the final last year. Sinead McLaughlin leads the defence but it is their half forward line, which includes Kirsty McGuinness and Clare Timoney, that will represent their most potent threat and with the excellent Mairead Cooper in the inside forward line they can be superb on their day. Offaly are the opposition for Antrim and they will be more than just a handful. The 2013 All Ireland Junior Champions have strong performers in Roisin Egan and Emma Dalton but the return of Mairead Daly following her long term injury gives them most reason for optimism, should Daly produce anything approaching her pre-injury form she could be the match winner in this tie. In Division 3 a play off will take place between Leitrim and Roscommon to decide the semi final line ups. Following a three way tie for second place in Division 3 a draw took place with Sligo being awarded 2nd place and sending these two team to a play off. The winner of this weekend’s play off will meet Sligo in their semi final with the losing side meeting Waterford in the other semi final. There is also a Play Off in Division 2 between Cavan and Donegal who finished level at the top of the division. The winner of the play off will go forward to meet Westmeath in the semi final with the loser meeting Armagh in the other semi final.
