THE Mallow Centre of Excellence in Cork and Meath’s Trim GAA hosted the Lidl Gaelic4Mothers&Others provincial blitzes last Saturday, July 21.50 clubs were represented across both venues as Mallow played host to 19 clubs and almost 300 women, with all six counties in the province represented. In Trim, eight Leinster counties were represented by 31 clubs and almost 500 women on a memorable day. Both eagerly-anticipated blitz days commenced at 11am, as the Lidl Gaelic4Mothers&Others initiative continues to break new ground. Lidl Gaelic4Mothers&Others is an innovative way to introduce mothers and other women to playing Ladies Gaelic Football, in a fun, non-competitive and social environment. Lidl Gaelic4Mothers&Others provides an opportunity for women to get their recommended weekly exercise in a fun way, while meeting other women from their local areas. The initiative has proven hugely popular with women of all ages and has taken off around the country, with a national blitz day planned for October 6 at the Naomh Mearnóg club in Dublin.
