17 April 2015 AIG to sponsor Dublin LGFA Féile 2015 Share this Article 0 0 0 Shares! 0 Shares! 1,200 young players to take part on Féile weekend AIG in Ireland will sponsor the 2015 Dublin Ladies Gaelic Football Féile competition. Féile, which takes place on April 25th and 26th this year at seven venues all over Dublin city and county, caters for ladies gaelic footballers at the under fourteen age group. Approximately 1,200 players and 54 teams representing 43 clubs are due to take part this year. To mark the announcement players from the seven host clubs plus a representative from reigning All-Ireland Féile U-14 Division 1 champions Foxrock/Cabinteely met at Parnell Park today for the launch of the sponsorship. Katie Páircéir (Ballinteer St Johns), Ciara McCullagh (Ballyboden St. Enda’s), Caoimhe Slattery (Man O War), Ella Griffin (Naomh Mearnóg), Emma O’Malley (Clondalkin Round Towers), Sadhbh Culleton (Skerries Harps), Ciara Hickey (Westmanstown Gaels) and Grace Keane (Foxrock/Cabinteely) joined Dublin Ladies Gaelic Football Chairman Joe Keane and AIG’s Sponsorship Manager John Gillick for the announcement. Foxrock/Cabinteely will be looking to take the first steps to retaining their All-Ireland title on the weekend of April 25th and 26th. They defeated Kilkerrin/Clonberne of Galway in last year’s decider on a 1-6 to 1-2 score line. Speaking at the announcement of the sponsorship Joe Keane, Chairman of Dublin LGFA said; “Dublin LGFA are extremely pleased to welcome AIG on board as title sponsor of our 2015 Féile competition. We have an excellent relationship with AIG having worked closely with the company since AIG became our county sponsor in November 2013. This new extension of AIG’s support of Dublin LGFA specifically at grass roots level demonstrates the value we both see in our partnership. “This is an exciting time for Dublin Ladies Gaelic football as our association continues to flourish since its inception nearly 30 years ago. This year 54 teams representing 43 clubs involving over 1200 young girls with compete across seven divisions in Féile 2015. Feile weekend always serves up so many wonderful memories for our players, mentors and indeed their respective clubs and communities and I would like to thank AIG most sincerely for providing us with the opportunity to showcase further the wonderful festival of football that is Féile”.
