TG4 ULSTER SENIOR CHAMPIONSHIP Armagh 2-17 Tyrone 1-5 Armagh proved much too strong for Tyrone in the preliminary round game of the Ulster senior championship played earlier today at the Athletic Grounds. The orchard girls dominated from start to finish and ran out winners by 15 points. Armagh edged the first half and went in at the break leading 1-6 to 0-5, corner forward Lauren Mc Conville scoring the all important goal. However in the second half the orchard girls were on fire. All Tyrone could manage was a single goal from Gemma Begley while Armagh notched another 1-11 the goal from Mags Mc Alinden. It was a bad day for Tyrone midfielder Laura Kilpatrick. The 19 year old was sin binned and then shortly after her return she was stretchered off with an ankle injury. All in Ulster football circle wish Laura a speedy recovery. Armagh had stars all over the field. Katie Daly made a number of impressive saves. Caroline O Hanlon and Fionnuala Mc Kenna contributed a combined total of 11 points and corner forward Lauren Mc Conville scored 1-2.
