Banner Ladies Presentation night

Banner Ladies Awards & Medals Presentation Banquet 2008

Before a guest attendance of almost 200 club members and friends All Star Cora Staunton presented championship medals to the club’s U-12, U-14, U-16 and Junior teams at the Annual Club Banquet held at the West County Hotel, Ennis recently.

Cora also delivered a most inspiring after dinner speech in which she stressed the importance of being dedicated to your chosen sport and how such dedication will reap so many rewards both on and off the field of play.  She spoke particularly to our senior ladies who once again in 2008 will go in search of their first ever Clare championship title.  Hopefully Cora’s words will be the inspiration that will drive this team forward in 2008.

Meanwhile Cora posed for photos (both press and personal) with many of our underage players who were delighted to have such a star in their midst. The local papers had wonderful colour coverage of the event in the days that followed and also Clare FM radio sent a crew to cover the event.

Another great evening for the Banner Ladies Football Club and for the sport of ladies football in Clare
