Bord Gais Energy Division 2 Semi Final

Bord Gais Energy Division 2 Semi Final

Armagh v Kildare

Armagh Ladies travel to Ardee this Saturday where they face Kildare in the semi final of the Bord Gias Energy Legaue Division 2. The Orchard girls have had a tremendous league campaign suffering only one defeat to Meath. They capped a superb run of games with victory over Tipperary in their last group game where they put on a performance of total team football. The manner of that victory in particular should see them travel to Ardee with the confidence that they have what it takes to overcome the Lilywhites.

Over the last number of years Armagh and Kildare have met frequently and games have always been tight. Most recently Armagh travelled to Kildare in Round 3 of the League when they eeked out a one point victory having been pushed to the limit right up to the final whistle. Kildare will hold no fear of Armagh when they face them however, as they also come into the game on the back of a successful league campaign. Apart from a heavy defeat to Tipperary and the one point loss to Armagh, Kildare have been winning games comfortably and with players such as former Allstar Brianne Leahy and Noelle Earley who was nominated for an Allstar last year they have no shortsge of experience or talent in their ranks.

The game throws in at 5.00 on Saturday in St Mary’s GAA club in Ardee and a large support is encouraged. Make it a weekend of football and support both the county men and ladies to success.
