Cavan Ladies V Fermanagh Ladies On Sunday 21st at 3pm in Breffni Park these two local rivals go head to head once again, this time in the first round of The Intermediate Championship . Cavan enjoyed a good League run, reaching the Quarter final stage ,whilst Fermanagh were relegated back to Division 3. However, we all know from experience that league and championship are two different animals altogether. There has been little word out of either camp in the buildup to the championship. Fermanagh has been in a transition period with a number of experienced players opting out of playing county football from the start of the year.It has taken a number of months to shape the new panel and help the new members get up to speed.Fermanagh manager ,Paula Cunningham and her management team are very are upbeat about the game on Sunday, when asked she said…..”Cavan would be viewed as favorites after their displays in the league but we are quite confident of causing an upset on Sunday, games between the two sides have always been quite close affairs, and we have every belief in our panel, they are a very motivated bunch of players.” Kyla Mc Manus from Newtownbutler is the captain of Fermanagh for the Championship campaign,She is ably assisted by her vice captains, Ashling Moane from Brookborough,Caroline Little from Lisnaskea and Tara Hughes also from Lisnaskea.
