Clare 1 – 17 Roscommon 1 – 10

 

Clare secured a good workout & challenge win over Roscommon
in this intercounty challenge game played at the magnificient
all weather sand based Coolmeen GAA Club pitch on Saturday. Amongs
those absent from the Clare lineout included Louise Henchy, Majella
Griffin & Carmel Considine amongst others. The new young-bloods
in the panel were eager to impress however and manager Deirdre
Murphy will be pleased with their performance.

 

Roscommon it must be stated were also somewhat understrength
– still the Clare ladies’ bandwagon keeps rolling on for 2007
– four out of four the stats now read. Leading 0-9 to 0-7 at the
interval Clare were never really threatened & when Áine
Kelly scored their only goal there was only ever going to be one
winner. Next up is a stern task when Clare face Leitrim on Sunday
next (provisionally at Ballinasloe). This win against Roscommon
will help keep the early year momentum going & hopefully the
girls will secure another two Suzuki League points next weekend.
