Down's Natasha Ferris still leads the race for the 2023 ZuCar Golden Boot award!

DOWN’S Natasha Ferris continues to lead in the race for the 2023 ZuCar Golden Boot award!

Ferris scored 1-9 against Limerick last weekend to move on to 7-23 (44 points) at the head of affairs but she’s now just four points clear of her nearest challenger, Clare’s Fidelma Marrinan.

The Banner County attacker scored 2-9 against Westmeath in last Sunday’s TG4 All-Ireland Intermediate Championship quarter-final victory, bringing her Championship total to 4-28 (40 points).

Ferris and Marrinan will both be in action next in the TG4 All-Ireland semi-finals on Sunday July 23.

Ferris and Down will pit their wits against Carlow in the Junior semi-final at Parnell Park, as Marrinan and her Clare colleagues go up against Antrim at Glennon Brothers Pearse Park, Longford.

Westmeath’s Aoife Connolly has moved into third place on a total of 5-13 (28 points) but the Lake County star cannot add to her tally following defeat to Clare, in which she scored 2-6.

Antrim’s Orlaith Prenter is in fourth place in the standings on 4-14 (26 points), after she scored 2-3 in the TG4 All-Ireland Intermediate quarter-final victory over Monaghan.
