Dublin Weekly Notes

Dublin weekly Notes

* The top spot this week goes to O’Tooles who have won the All Ireland Feile. We are thrilled to report that our Dublin Everbuild Feile side went to Derry, saw off all their opposition and finished 1-4 to 1-1 over Limerick side Monagea. Well done Girls. There will be celebrations aplenty when you get home! Ballyboden St Enda’s put in a great performance too reaching the semi-final stage. We knew the Dublin girls would do us proud and both teams did so with style. We must also mention the Na Fianna lads who are bringing home their Division 1 All Ireland Feile Trophy.

* The Dublin Seniors opened their Championship campaign today with a win over Kildare in the Leinster Semi-Final. They will meet Laois in two weeks time in the Final where we will bid to keep our Leinster title. More about the game on the website and photographs courtesy of Peter Hickey from the GAApics.com link.

* There will be some reassignment of League games this Weds in Div 1; 2 & 3 to allow the Seniors prepare for their Leinster title bid. Please disregard the existing League Fixtures in Div 1 & 2 and the teams which have Dublin Players in Div 3 – these will be amended.

* Matters for discussion and inclusion on the July County Board meeting to be with me by Monday 12th please.

* The Fixtures Committee have met and propose that the July co Board decide the format of the Juvenile Championship. This will start on 11th September and be played like the adults, on a ‘league’ basis, in two groups of 4 [8 teams total]. There will be some variations to accommodate uneven grades within age groups but the intent is to have at least three games for each team + semi-finals & finals. More details later.

* Reminder……….. the mandatory purchase fee of 6 All Ireland tickets is now overdue. The County is required to pay over a cheque to Central Council for 58 Clubs [€8700] and so far only 12 Clubs have paid us. Can the remaining 46 please let me have the payment [€150] by return. Thanks.
