Fermanagh Progress to Ulster Intermediate Championship Final

A combined total of 3-11 from forwards Caroline Little and Edel Campbell helped Fermanagh to overcome a spirited Antrim side and reach this years Ulster intermediate decider.

The Saffrons were in trouble early on as they traveled to Donaghmore with just seventeen players. Kirsty Mc Guinness pointed the first score of the game but then the Erne girls went on to hit 1-7 without reply, the goal conming from Caroline Little. Antrim then got to within two points when they had their own purple patch in which Coleen Doherty found the net and the forwards fired over four points. Fermanagh finished the half strongest and while it looked like the interval score would be tight Edel Campbell and Lynn Mc Fredrick had a different idea. The duo struck for two late goals to give their side a midway lead off 3-8 to 1-5.

In the third quarter Fermanagh dominated and added another 1-8. Campbell scored her second goal and Paula Cunningham emptied her bench. In the fourth quarter Antrim managed to outscore Fermanagh five points to four however when Terry MC Shea blew the final whistle nineteen points separated the sides and now Fermanagh await the winners of Down and Cavan in the Ulster final.
