Last chance Saloon for Kerry and Waterford

Last chance Saloon for Kerry and Waterford

On saturday eveing a the Fraher Field in Dungarvan at 6pm the
most significant game in this years TG4 Senior ladies Championship
takes place.

The home team Waterford take on, a rejuvinated Kerry with former
manager Robbie Griffin back to marshall his troops. For one of
the most succesful managers in recent years, Michael Ryan, it
could be end of the road, because he has intimated this will be
his last season a the helm. Kerry enter the game with the physologiacal
advantage having beaten the Deise girls i t heir

last 3 encounters, last year atthe same stage in extra time and
this year in the league and last Satuirdya in a virtually meaningless
prelimenary joust. That game merely providred shadow boxing, wityh
a certtyian amount of bragging rights thrown in, but this Saturdays
game has a lot more at stake.

One team will have an early Summer holiday, the other will have
at least the Munster final and the All-Ireland Semi to look forward
to. Waterford with a panel of less than 20 have a very balanced
outfit and will be well motivated to prolong their season and
that of their famed Manager. Kerry will be missing Geraline O’Shea
their top player for the past 10 years and her loss

will be huge. If Kacy O’Driscoll, back form the US where she is
on a soccer scolarship can be enticed to return to the fold she
would be an adqaute replacement. Either way there should be only
a kick of a ball between them, with Waterford given the tenative
vote to advance to meet Cork in the Munster final
