Following an application process throughout February and March, we are delighted that the week commencing Monday 18th March will see the launch of the first two regional workshops of the #SeriousSupport Players’ Programme. Over 290 participants will take part in the programme which will see around 144 clubs represented in 12 locations across the country. Between now and the end of May, participants will take part in two workshops each of which will be led by a team of Athlete Mentors consisting of current and former intercounty players. Roscommon Through an inspirational Athlete Mentor story and two separate workshops, players will get the opportunity to hear directly from Athlete Mentors on their own positive experiences of Gaelic football. The programme is a new initiative supported by Sport Ireland Women in Sport funding and aims to reduce the drop-out rate in sport participation and increase the confidence and resilience among girls aged 13-16.
