Sligo Club Notes

St. Nathys in association with the Sligo Sports Partnership are launching the MVP programme.  MVP meaning Most Valuable People.  The aim is to provide an affordable social activity for Ladies, mums, volunteers and players, and in doing so acknowledging their contribution to community sport while also promoting the local Ladies Football Club in a positive light.  The class being hosted is “Boxercise” and will be in St. Nathys Hall, Mullinabreena.  It will run over 6 weeks commencing late October, possibly Tuesdays but day, start date and time to be confirmed.  The 6 sessions will cost €20.00 per person.  If this is something you might be interested in please contact Tracy O’Kennedy on 0874110568 or Louise O’Donnell on 0876356679 to express your interest.


Cheers of Joy rang out around the parish’s of Mullinabreena, Coolaney & Bunninadden when the U12 Girls won the County Championship Final (group C) on Wednesday last in St. Pat’s, Screen.  The opposition was Calry/St. Josephs.  The wind was howling around the field but this did not stop the might of St. Nathys.  The players supported each other and lead the team to a sweet victory with a scoreline of 2.11 to 1.0.  The panel was:  Grace Harding / Roisin Scanlon / Aoife O’Dowd / Cathroina Marren / Grainne Marren / Lana Moore / Eire Finan / Jane O’Dowd / Aoibhin Gannon / Elaine Kiloran / Sile Gorman / Rachel Henry / Niamh McDonnagh / Ciara O’Dowd (CAPT) / Lara Wittig / Niamh McGuinness / Emma Rutledge / Laoise Gannon / Katlyn O’Gara / Tilly Dowling / Lauren Scanlon.

The U14’s and U16’s and Minors are still training and competing for places in their respective finals and are working hard to ensure they achieve this.


St. Nathys members are currently selling 3d “AIR FRESHENERS” …. On Sale are Red and White & Green and White 3d Air Fresheners costing €5.  Each member either has a batch to sell so if you want one make sure to contact a club member or if you see them on sale please buy one.


This week’s club Business Sponsor is Gormley Construction whom are a Building Construction firm from Bunninadden, Co. Congratulations to Bunninadden Intermediate Team on winning the County Final on Saturday last in Tourlestrane.


Coolaney/Mullinabreena GAA are hosting the “Spar in the Park” White Collar Boxing Night in the Sligo Park Hotel this Saturday 6th October at 7.30pm.  Tickets at €15 are available from any club member or on the night.  The club are encouraging all to support this event
