St. Dominic's Notes

Best wishes to St. Dominic’s players Rachel Corcoran, Eimear McNally & Julie Healy and the Roscommon Ladies U16 football team that play Leitrim in the 5th Round of the Connacht U16 Championship on Saturday 12th July in Roscommon.

The U12s and U14s continued training this week. The U14s next game is the Championship Round 1 game on Sunday 17th August while the U12s will shortly be talking part in a series of non competitive development games.

The Beginners & Nursery Programme continues each Saturday morning at the pitch. St. Dominic’s U8s and U10s will play their first games on Friday next 11th July @ 6pm is St. Dominic’s pitch against St. Brigids. We ask for a good turnout of players from the U8 & U10 panels for the first of what are sure to be an enjoyable series of games and blitzes. From Friday last, the U8 now train alongside the U10s each Friday @ 6.00pm.

St. Dominic’s Junior ladies football team played St. Mary’s in the second round of the Adult Championship on Sunday 6th July away. Dominic’s found it hard to get enough players to field a team with a number of girls away for the weekend. St. Mary’s capitalised on St. Dominic’s difficulties and ran out convincing winners with a scoreline of 6-09 to St. Dominic’s 3-07. The Juniors are scheduled to play St. Croan’s away on Sun 13th July, although this date is likely to change due to fixture clashes.
