St. Nathy's Club Notes

A sincere thank you to all who supported, participated and helped out at the “Ox Mountain Run/Walk” on Sunday last.  We were blessed with the weather on the day and with all participants in good spirits they set off on time running or walking the routes.  The route was varied with both straight stretches and some gradual hills to test ones endurance; however despite this everyone seemed to make great time and enjoy the event.  Prizes were awarded to:  1st Club Player home from the 10k route was AnnMarie Coleman from Bunninadden, 1st Club Player from the 6k route was Sile Gorman from Mullinabreena.  Sean Dooner from Tooreen, Ballyhaunis was our oldest participant at aged 81 years he ran the 6k route, having run an 8k on Saturday this man should be an inspiration to many.  The overall winners were Derek & Ann Hunter who were the 1st Male and 1st Female across the line for the 10k route.  While Sumi Ulhaq was the first male across the line for the 6k route.  Again on behalf of the Club we want to thank all who helped out on the day, stewards, drivers, our sponsors and O’Grady’s Bar, Coolaney for accommodating the registration and refreshments in a very pleasant manner.

Our U12’s have kept a clean slate to-date in their championship games, they defeated St. Michaels by 1 point on a wet Saturday evening last.  They now have to re-schedule a postponed game against CT Gaels and have to play away to Geevagh on Friday next, the 7th September at 6.45pm.

Tourlestrane have called time on their Senior Championship fixtures and have given their final game to St. Nathys which was due to take place this Sunday.  This means St. Nathys may have a playoff to contend with before being placed for the Final, it depends on the result of the Geevagh and Drumcliff contest.

The September calendar is in circulation, it details the games and pre planned club events for the month.  If anyone wants to be included in the circulation of this please contact Louise on 0876356679.
