The U14’s have got the club our first piece of silverware, winning the U14 League Title for 2011. The game was against Eastern Harps on Wednesday last. It was a very tight contest between 2 excellent teams, St. Nathys dominated in the 1st half while Eastern Harps were strongest in the second half but the Nathys girls held on and fought hard and finished with a penalty in the last kick of the game when Ciara Gorman stepped up to the mark held her nerve and scored the goal which put St. Nathys ahead by a 1 point, the final whistle was blown instantly and it was a joyous St. Nathys victory.

St. Nathys hosted the U10 Girls Blitz in Bunninadden on Saturday last. 7 teams from the county participated, St. Nathys, St. Farnans, Geevagh, Tubbercurry/Cloonacool, Tourlestrane, Curry & Castleconnor. Players and spectators had a few showers to contend with but the games were well managed and all players were eger to show their skills, they made their clubs proud and also gave great confidence in the development of Ladies Football within the County for the future. We thank all of the teams who participated and St. Nathys senior members and parents who helped in officiating the games and providing the refreshments. The main organisers were Noelle Gormley and Katrina Connolly who are St. Nathys players and are members of the Sligo Development Team. A word of thanks is extended to Bunninadden pitch committee who had the grounds and facilities in perfect condition for the day. Brilliant team and player Pictures are available thanks to the talented Colette Coleman on “St Nathys Ladies GFC” Facebook page.
