The 34th AGM of the Vancouver ISSC

The 34th AGM of the Vancouver ISSC

The Annual General Meeting of the Vancouver Irish Sporting and
Social Club was held on January 18th at Scribes RFC Clubhouse where
over 20 members were in attendance. President Gavan Connolly (Dublin)
gave a brief run down on all of the year’s events with specific
highlights on the men’s Gaelic football team winning the Western
Canadian Championship for the second year in a row, the women’s
team strong showing in Alberta and the continued success of the
club’s website www.isscvancouver.com with the larger Irish
community.

The financial report was ably presented to members by Katrina McAndrew
(Nottingham) along with reports from the Vancouver Harps Paul Stack
(Clare) and GAA Convener Keith Clark (Toronto). A word of thanks
was given to those who served on the 2006 executive and in particular
to Bernard Ward (Antrim) who served as Vice- President and Chris
Cyr (Vancouver) who managed the ladies’s football team.

Gavan Connolly chaired the nominations for the 2007 ISSC executive
which was highlighted by the willingness of many to let their name
stand for a position.

President – Graham Hancock (Dublin)

Vice-President – Marcus Treacy (Kerry)

Secretary – Roicin O’Connolly (Cork)

Treasurer – Katrina McAndrew

Western Canadian GAA Reps – Erin McGinley (Vancouver) and
Ronan Deane (Cork)

Members at Large – Olivia O’Hara (Sligo), Ruairi Dolan

It was noted before the end of the meeting that members of the

the club, with the recent election of Ronan Deane as Chair of the
Western Canadian Divisional Board and John O’Flynn (Vancouver)
who serves as the Secretary of the Canadian County Board.
