The Banner 4 - 7 Crusheen 1 - 4

A much improved second half performance saw The Banner senior squad open their season with a deserved victory. Playing with the assistance of a strong wind in the first half the Banner girls had a meagre 1-4 to 0-3 half time advantage. The Banner’s goal coming from Louise Woods.

A bright start to the second half saw substitute Louise McNamara goal in the second minute. The Banner went forward from this to dominate the game and win well. Niamh Keane also scored an excellent goal in the second half.

Congratulations to Michelle Delaney in her first game as Banner captain.

A mention also to Maria McMahon and Laurie Ryan who made their senior team debuts with excellent performances. All the team did well but captain Michele Delaney, Niamh Martin, Louise Woods and Ann Marie Garry did exceptionally well.

Training continues next Tuesday evening and the Banner face Cooraclare next weekend.
