Tyrone Squad cut for Waterford Tie Tyrone ladies manager John McAleer has cut his squad to 24 for Sundays Suzuki National Football League tie in Dublin against Waterford, but the management team have confirmed, come the end of the league campaign a panel of 30 will be named for the start of the Ulster Championship. McAleer and coach Ryan Cunningham have however indicated that further players will be added through the current campaign and all players will have there chance to impress ahead of the final cut for the championship. Players have been working hard since November we have been impressed by what we have seen but feel now is the right time to make changes, we have to take a look at other players too and in a competitive scenario, last weekends Dowd cup threw up some players that deserve a crack on the inter county stage and through the league campaign these players will have there day claimed the Tyrone coach Waterford are an experienced panel and Cunningham admitted Tyrone will have to be at their best if they are to add to the two points collected prior to Christmas, a defeat 3-6 to 0-7 points against Roscommon was a blow to the Tyrone management and they have called for the players to show more hunger. Tyrone go into the game, yes with a reduced squad but with a fully fit panel to select from. Waterford officials meanwhile tried to have the tie fixed for Offaly earlier this week after Tyrone had already made arrangements, the Tyrone county board and management stood firm and the game goes ahead in Dublin as planned. Meanwhile ahead of the minor championship the Tyrone management will hold further trials this Sunday at the Mid-Ulster arena at Loughrea the trials start at 11am and players are advised to bring trainers or moulded studs, no steel studs are permitted on the surface.
