Ulster Council Inclusive Wheelchair Football- GAA for ALL On November 30th Year 13 and 14 Pupils from St.Pat’s, Maghera, Derry along with Maghera Day centre participants experienced and afternoon of wheelchair football coaching and games. Wheelchair football is one part of the Ulster council GAA for All initiative. The event was organised in association with ‘FACE, inclusion matters’ organisation. The 42 (25 female) participants adapted skills such and the solo, pick up and hand pass in the wheelchairs. Conditioned games, 3 a side and 6 a side matches proved very popular. Geraldine McGurk – Most improved player Enjoying the day Geraldine McGurk picked up the award for most improved on the day. She is pictured with Una McKay (Ulster Council) and all Ireland club finalists from the Glen Ladies Club, Clare Lagan (Face inclusion matters) and Briege Cassidy (Maghera Day Centre) Many thanks to Catriona Scott, St.Pats’ Maghera PE Teacher and Maghera Day centre for their contribution on the day.
