Wexford County Council will hold several code of Ethics and Basic Awareness Courses over the next few months commencing tonight in the Horse and Hound Hotel in Ballinaboola and it will cost only €20. In order to achieve this, Sports Active Wexford host Irish Sports Council certified Code of Ethics and Best Practice Awareness (Child Protection) workshops for leaders within sports clubs / organisations. This 3-hour ‘Child Welfare & Protection in Sport’ training course is for Children’s Officers and/or Designated Persons, Sports Leaders and other adults involved in the organisation of sport for young people. As well as undertaking child protection training, all governing bodies of sport and related organisations should adopt child protection policies and procedures as outlined in the Code of Ethics and Good Practice for Children’s Sport. The training will enable Children’s Officers/Sports Leaders to: • Implement best practice in protecting the welfare of participants • Create a child-centered environment within the sports club • List categories of abuse and some indicators associated with abuse • Make appropriate response to a disclosure • Make a report to designated officer or appropriate Statutory Authorities Please note this course is a prerequisite for the next stage of training-Irish Sports Council certified ‘Children’s Officer in Sport’ Note: You need to book and pay in advance either online or by cheque/postal order made payable to Wexford County Council https://pay.easypaymentsplus.com/feepay1.aspx?id=179 Share this Article 0 0
