Wexford ladies meet Cavan in quarter-final

The Wexford Datapac team take on Cavan in the TG4 Intermediate
All-Ireland quarter final in Ballyboden St. Enda’s pitch, Dublin,
on Saturday next at 3.30pm. Wexford had the upper hand in recent
league meetings between the sides, but past performance will
count for little in this clash. Cavan reached the All-Ireland
quarter finals of the Junior championship last year where they
were defeated by Longford.

In the current campaign they suffered narrow defeats to Tipperary
and Clare, while beating Longford by 3-11 to 2-8 and Fermanagh
by 2-9 to 2-7. They also defeated Fermanagh by 2-13 to 1-10
in the Ulster final. Wexford are capable of progressing into
the next round. However, they will have to step up on recent
performances if they are to succeed.

There was a vast improvement in their last game versus Westmeath
compared to the previous round loss to Leitrim, and they will
have to show even further improvement on Saturday if they are
to progress to the semi-final.
