Bord Gáis Energy NFL Div 1 Final Preview

Galway v Cork, Parnell Park, 5.15 (K Tighe)

These two teams drew earlier in the season in a ring ding dong battle in Cork. Cork have the experience and the pedigree and Valerie Mulcahy has been lethal in front of goal this season. Galway are a sleeping giant and have the potential to beat any side on their day. Lorna Joyce and Niamh Duggan will provide a cutting edge upfront while Rebecca McPhilbin will aim to contain the Cork forward line.

CORK: E Harte, R Buckley, A Walsh, L Barrett, D O’Reilly, B Stack, G O’Flynn, J Murphy, N Kelly, N Cleary, C O’Sullivan, AM Walsh, M O’Connor, V Mulcahy, A O’Shea

GALWAY: J Connolly, S Noone, A Gilmore, C Cormican, R McPhilbin, E Flaherty, G Conneally, D Lawless, A Daly, L Joyce, E Concannon, S Burke, S Murphy, M Coyne, N Duggan

Donegal v Kildare, Parnell Park, 3.30 (J Niland)

Donegal were the stand out performers of Division 2 this year and they have built on recent underage success. Niamh Hegarty has been one of the stars of the Tir Connaill team and she will be expected to lead from the front. Kildare qualified as the fourth seeded team but found a new gear to account for Armagh in the semi-finals after forcing a replay first time out. Brianne Leahy and Aisling Holton will have to perform if the Lilywhites are to have a chance of glory.

DONEGAL: R McCafferty, D Toner, M Devenny, K Wilson, C Hegarty, M Herron, D Foley, A McDonald, K Guthrie, G Houston, N Hegarty, U Leonard, E Ward, Y McMonagle, G McLaughlin

Bord Gáis Energy NFL Div 3 Final Preview

Cavan v Waterford, Parnell Park, 1.15 (P Kehoe)

Cavan got the better of Waterford when the two sides met earlier in the year but it was only a three point game and Waterford can take heart from the fact that they were the only team in Division 3 who could live with Cavan this year. Waterford have plenty of experience in their side with Linda Wall and Michelle Ryan in attack but Cavan’s midfield dynamo Pamela Crowe-McCabe could dictate the pace of the game and consequently the result.

CAVAN: K Baxter, C Reilly, C Grey, C Kearins, R Murphy, A Cornyn, C Smith, R Crowe, C Murtagh, P Crowe-McCabe, R O’Keefe, G Smith, B Boylan, B Sheridan, A Doonan

WATERFORD: A Jordan, R Toibin, M Foley, L Hogan, G Enright, N Dunphy, M Wall, M McGrath, E Power, G Keneally, S Power, A McGovern, L Wall, M Ryan, S Ryan
