As part of the LGFA 50-year anniversary celebrations we are providing 50 clubs with the opportunity to receive a support visit of their choosing during 2024 to assist with their needs. How can clubs get involved? Clubs can apply to be considered for one of these support visits by completing a short nomination form (CLICK HERE) outlining details of the support they require on their visit and why they should be selected. The closing date is Friday 31st May at 5pm. What will the support visit entail? Clubs can select one from the following sessions to meet their needs: Key2Coaching Workshop See all the hints and tips provided through our coach education courses in action with this coaching session in your club Aimed at all LGFA coaches in your club Being a High Performing Committee Session Emphasis placed on the structure of your club and guidance provided to utilise Gaelic Games Club Compás, will help the club plan for the future Aimed at the executive committee of the club LGFA Players’ Programme Through an inspirational County Player story and a workshop, teenage players in your club will get the opportunity to hear directly from a County Player on their own positive experiences of Gaelic football and complete some fun team building exercises and a training session Aimed at players aged 13 – 16 years Go Games Referee Course All clubs need referees and this course will develop the fundamental skills of refereeing to enable to referee in a fun, safe environment at non-competitive Go Games Aimed at participants aged 16 years and over Club Participation Pathway Workshop This session will assist the club to examine the current and potential pathways for participation for players and non-players within their club so ensure an inclusive ethos for everyone in their community Aimed at the executive committee and coaches in the club Coaching Teenage Girls in Sport Workshop The workshop is made up of four main modules – Drop-out And Engagement in Girls’ Sport and Physical Activity, Meeting the Psycho-Social Needs of Girls in Sport, Key Considerations for Coaching Girls 12-17 years – Body image and maturation, and Preparing for the Challenges of Adolescence in Girls Aimed at coaches of teenage teams within the club The visits will take place during 2024 on a date agreed with the club.
