Kildangan Nurney Ladies Football Club Notes

Kildangan Nurney Ladies Football Club Notes

With the Autumn leagues just starting, thing are getting hectic on the Ladies football front. We had record numbers training in Kildangan last week; however there’s always room for a few more.

An exciting new innovation in Girls football this year will be a series of GO games for Under 11 girls.
These games will be non competitive small sided fixtures aimed at introducing girls to football. There is no minimum age limit, and it’s aimed at being a fun introduction to Gaelic football. John Nealon and Mary Jo Merrins are looking after this group and we would love to see more of the younger girls getting involved, it’s a great way to meet new friends and get a bit of fresh air and exercise. Contact John on 086 2430522 for details. The girls play their first round of Games this Sunday in CAstlemitchell,
hopefully they enjoy the experence Kildangan Nurney Under 13 team Played our first game of the year against Kill, losing by a solitary point 1:04 to Kills 2:02.

Kildangan Nurney Under 15 team are playing in Division 2 South, our first game was away to Ballykelly last Saturday, our next outing is at home to Athy, this Saturday 11th September. The winners and Runners up of Division 2 South play the Winners and runners up of Division 2 North.

All fixtures and rules are on the Kildangan GAA website, http://kildangan.kildare.gaa.ie, or the Nurney GAA Facebook page.

Training for all these leagues takes place in Kildangan GAA pitch, Monday evenings at 6:00 pm.

This year Kildangan Nurney are entering a team in the Minor Championship, any girl between the ages of 14 and 18 is eligible to play. We need more players for this team, anyone interested should contact Tracey Rowe at 086 6664558. Training for this age group takes place in Nurney GAA twice a week, Tuesday and Thursdays, coordinators are Tracey Rowe and Karen Lawless.

We are holding a fundraising raffle to defray some of the costs of running the club. The prizes have been very generously sponsored by Worrells Gala Kildangan and Kellys Gala Nurney. All support would be greatly appreciated.
