1-6 in either half paves way for Maynooth Success

NUI Maynooth overcame neighbours, Athlone IT in a keenly contested encounter in their O’Connor Cup meeting. A consitent performance from Maynooth was the difference with 1-6 registered in either half with Claragh Reilly leading the way with a personal haul of 6 points.

Ciara Trant provided the pivotal moment of the match with a fantastic save to keep the Athlone team at bay as Maynooth overcame the sinbinning of Niamh Brennan to claim the victory. Goals in either half from Karen Hegarty and Niamh Brennan were other key moments as Maynooth held out to win by 2 points.
