112 LGFA teams set to compete at Féile Football festival!

This Saturday, 1^st July, will see 40 LGFA teams competing in the 2023 John West National Féile Peile na nÓg hosted by Connacht.

Sincere thanks to the National Féile Committee and Connacht GAA, especially John Prenty, Adrian Hassett, Michael O’Connor and John Hopkins (Connacht Féile Chairperson) for the planning and organisation and for facilitating five fantastic LGFA host venues: Connacht GAA Centre of Excellence, Mayo; Clonberne Sports Field, Galway; Castlerea St Kevins, Roscommon; Tubbercurry GAA, Sligo and Tuam Stars GAA, Galway.

Special thanks also to LGFA Connacht Administrator, Ita Hannon, for all her assistance.

Taking place also on Saturday will be the John West Regional Féile Peile na nÓg, with 72 LGFA teams competing across nine regions including:

Antrim: St Joseph’s Glenavy & Naomh Éanna, Down: Carryduff, Armagh: Silverbridge Harps, Louth: Cooley Kickhams, Meath: Donaghmore Ashbourne, Wicklow: Blessington, Longford: Longford Slashers, Tipperary: Moyne Templetuohy, Limerick: Staker Wallace.

Many thanks to these venues and the wonderful volunteers for hosting and to the county boards for assigning match officials.

We welcome all 112 LGFA teams competing, including teams from Glo-Herts (London), Scotland, New York and Philadelphia.

Almost 2900 LGFA players will take part in the John West National and Regional Féile Competitions, along with the presence of  500 mentors, 70 match officials and hundreds of volunteers.

We hope every single player has a fantastic and fun day and enjoys her Féile experience.
