12 British Clubs Set To Benefit from Gaelic4Girls

We are delighted to announce the 2017 LGFA Gaelic4Girls Clubs for Britain.

The Gaelic4Girls initiative, which has been a huge success for the LGFA in Ireland, was piloted in Britain in 2015.  The programme received a fantastic response across Britain and has been a resounding success since with on average 13 clubs participating annually and a recruitment of in excess of 300 girls each year.   2017 will see the third year of roll out with a total of 12 clubs selected to participate across 4 County Boards: Scotland (3), London (4), Warwickshire (2) and Lancashire (3).

Training for all clubs will commence this weekend, Sunday 5th March when William Harmon will put the 3 Scotland Clubs; Dunedin Og, Coatbridge and Tir Chonail Harps through the training programme which will equip all coaches with the necessary skills and resources to deliver the programme within their Club.  The remaining 9 clubs; Holloway Gaels, Taras, Parnells and Thomas McCurtains (London), St. Lawrences, John Mitchell’s and Oisins (Lancashire) and Sean McDermotts and John Mitchells (Warwickshire) will receive their training on Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th March by Lyn Savage.

Ladies Gaelic Football has great potential for development throughout Britain and the continued implementation of the Gaelic4Girls initiative will be a key tool for the further development of the sport.
