Milford and Ardara claim Donegal titles

Saturday was an exciting afternoon in Killygordon at Red Hughes ground when two County Finals took place in the one afternoon between Milford and St. Nauls in the Junior Final at 3pm and the Intermediate Final at 5pm between Ardara and Cloughaneely.

Milford started much the stronger of the two teams with Amber Barrett scoring a hattrick of goals along with 4 points in the first half and a goal and a point from Caoimhe Barrett scoring a goal and three points with four others scoring a point each. The score at half time was Milford 5–6 St Nauls 1-6.In the second half Milford scored a goal and a point from Amber and a goal from Aisling Mc Bride. St Nauls did better in the second half scoring two goals, one from a penalty, and two points.

Final scores:

MIlford 7–8 St Nauls 3-8.

The Intermediate Final was more exciting for the neutrals with Tanya Barrett scoring a goal and a point, Carol Breslin a  goal and three and Aoife Mc Donnell and Jennifer Mc Neilis a point each. The scorers for Cloughaneely were Laura Gallagher with 1-1, Roisin Curran and Karen Feeney a point each in the first half.In the second half Roisinadded a goal and a point whilst Karen Feeney and Evelyn Mc Ginley added a point each.

The final score was Ardara 2–13 Cloughaneely 2–6.
