3 Referees Announced for All Ireland Finals...

An important person on All Ireland Final Day – the one with the whistle!!

12pm – Junior Final – Yvonne Duffy (Cavan)

Yvonne is a member of the Mullahoran Ladies and has played Ladies Football at all levels including winning a Senior schools All-Ireland in 1996.  She has being refereeing for 7 years at all levels, including U-14, U16 and schools All Ireland Finals.

In 2010 Yvonne  refereed the Aisling McGing Final, and also travelled to New York to represent the Ladies Association as our National  Referee at the CYC games.  Yvonne has also been a linesperson at All Ireland day on 5 occasions and now she follows in her fathers footsteps who refereed the 1982 Ladies All-Ireland final.

 

2pm – Intermediate Final – Gavan Corrigan (Down)

Gavin Corrigan is from County Down and is a member of the St Malachy’s Club in Castlewellan. Gavin started refereeing Ladies Football in 1999 and since then his career has blossomed

Gavin has refereed 2 Senior finals ,2 Intermediate finals and 3 junior finals within his County. He has also received the prestigious award of referee of the year.

Gavin also referees within his province and had the honour of refereeing 2 Senior Finals ,2 Senior Club finals ,3 Minor finals ,and 1 Junior Club final.

Gavin has great experience with Ladies Gaelic Finals, namely  an All Ireland Intermediate Club final , O’Dowd cup , O’Connor cup, Interprovincial Final, and Gavin has also travelled to Britain to referee the British Intermediate Club Final.

 

4pm – Senior Final – John Niland (Sligo)

John is a member of the Curry GAA club in Sligo. He has refereed a Sligo Senior, Intermediate and Junior League and Championship Finals. He has  also  refereed the Connacht and  Junior Final as well as a  Senior Club Finals. John has refereed the Aisling McGing Memorial Championship final 2009.  In 2010 John was honoured to have refereed the  Division Two League Final and Junior All Ireland Final.  He has also refereed the Connacht Senior Championship Final, Minor All Ireland Final and Senior Quarter Final 2011.
