SIX St Macartan’s players have been honoured with Gaelic Life Ulster Club All-stars. The Tyrone side, who claimed a first Ulster title by knocking out then All-Ireland champions Donaghmoyne, dominate the team with goalkeeper Niamh McKenna, defenders Shannon McQuaid and Niamh McGirr, midfielder Maura McMenamin and attackers Chloe McCaffrey and Joline Donnelly earning spots on the chosen 15. Donaghmoyne trio Rosemary Courtney, Sharon Courtney and Louise Kerley have also been named in the side. Ulster Intermediate champions Latton take up three spots on the team with Sarah Boyd, Shannon Conlan and Eimile Culleton getting the nod. Junior champions Corduff, meanwhile, have two players on the team – Laura McEnaney and Barbara Ward. Crosserlough dual star Ciara Finnegan is the final All-star winner after she produced a series of stunning displays to help the Cavan side to the Intermediate final. The players will pick up their awards at the Gaelic Life Ulster Club All-stars, which will be held in the Hillgrove Hotel in Monaghan on Friday, January 12. One of the 15 will also be named as Ladies’ Player of the Year on the night while Ciara Finnegan is one of three players short-listed for dual Player of the Year, alongside Slaughtneil’s Karl McKaigue and Kevin McKernan of Patrick Sarsfields.
