Best wishes to all LGFA teams competing at John West Féile National and Regional Féile Peile na nÓg

This Saturday, 29^th June, will see 40 LGFA teams competing in the 2024 John West National Féile Peile na nÓg hosted by Connacht.

Sincere thanks to the National Féile Committee and Connacht GAA, especially John Prenty, Adrian Hassett, Michael O’Connor and John Hopkins (Connacht Féile Chairperson) for the planning and organisation and for facilitating five fantastic LGFA host venues: Connacht GAA Centre of Excellence, Mayo; Clonberne Sports Field, Galway; Tubbercurry GAA, Sligo; Milltown GAA, Galway and St. Brendan’s, Ballygar, Galway.

Special thanks also to LGFA Connacht Administrator, Ita Hannon, for all her assistance.

Taking place also on Saturday will be the John West Regional Féile Peile na nÓg, with 40 LGFA teams competing across five regions including:

Westmeath: Coralstown/Kinnegad, Tyrone; St. Macartan’s, Louth: Cooley Kickhams, Wicklow: Carnew Emmets GAA, Tipperary: Moyle Rovers.

Many thanks to these venues and the wonderful volunteers for hosting and to the county boards for assigning match officials.

We welcome all 80 LGFA teams competing, including teams from Hertfordshire, London, Scotland, New York, Boston, San Francisco and Philadelphia.

Almost 2100 LGFA players will take part in the John West National and Regional Féile Competitions, along with the presence of 320 mentors, 50 match officials and hundreds of volunteers.

From a Ladies Gaelic Football Association perspective, there’s a real sense of history surrounding this year’s events, as the LGFA celebrates its 50^th anniversary on the 18^th of July. This year also marks 30 years of LGFA involvement in Féile and these are milestones to cherish. We hope every single player has a fantastic and fun day and enjoys her Féile experience.
