Adrian McGovern Manager of the Month of April

Adrian took over as manager of Cavan at the start of the season he has overseen a turnaround in fortunes of the Breffni County who qualified for the final following a 3-19 to 1-04 defeat of Wexford. Cavan are the only county in division three to boast a 100% record and last season Cavan exited the league at quarter final stage after suffering a 2-11 to 0-08 defeat to Sligo.

Cavan’s last won a NFL title back in 2008 when they defeated Limerick in the division three final 1-09 to 1-05.

On receiving his award, Adrian said, “I am genuinely proud and delighted to be given this award and of course my coaching team deserve a mention for their help and support. We are delighted with the progress we have made this season and credit to the players and the panel for their efforts on and off the pitch. Hopefully now we can sustain this form and keep it going through the summer.”

Speaking at the award presentation, Ger Cunningham, Sports Sponsorship Manager, Bord Gáis Energy, said, “Adrian has done a really commendable job in his short time with the Cavan ladies football team and we’re very happy to be able to give recognition to his efforts with this award.”
