Aimee Mackin remains the player to catch in the race for the ZuCar Golden Boot

ARMAGH star and 2020 TG4 Senior Players’ Player of the Year Aimee Mackin continues to lead the race for inaugural ZuCar Golden Boot, which will be awarded to the top scorer in the 2021 TG4 All-Ireland Ladies Football Championships.

But Mackin can do no more as Armagh’s campaign came to an end against Meath at the quarter-final stage last weekend.

In four Championship outings, Mackin amassed a huge tally of 4-28 (40 points), which puts her at the top of the pile.

Mackin’s nearest challenger is Geraldine McLaughlin, with 2-22 (28 points), but McLaughlin can’t catch Mackin as Donegal are also out of the Championship following defeat to Dublin at the quarter-final stage.

Third-placed Westmeath’s Sarah Dillon (3-13 – 22 points) has some ground to make up as the Lake County prepare to face Clare in Sunday’s TG4 All-Ireland Intermediate quarter-final.
