Aisling McGing Cup Round Up

Aisling McGing U/21 Championship Round 2

Summary

For the second successive weekend it was goals galore in the Aisling McGing Championship with a few surprise results that keeps alive the hopes of many of the competing counties.

Kerry set up a winner take all clash with Cork next weekend with a tough win over Waterford. Manager Connie O’Connor will be happy to have the first hurdle out of the way but knows that an improvement is needed for the Rebels.

Armagh put themselves in the driving seat with a win over Tyrone. A win next week over Antrim will put them in the semi-finals.

Mayo’s wait to bring home the Aisling McGing Cup back to her native county will have to take another year at least as Roscommon held on for a memorable 4 point win. Roscommon and Galway will now face off in a winner take all battle.

While in Leinster, Dublin suffered a surprise defeat at the hands of Meath. The Royals bounced back from their defeat to Laois the previous week and a Dublin win over Laois will put all teams level provided they can all beat Wexford.

For the second week in a row it was goals galore with a total of 24 scored bringing the total to 54 in 2 rounds with every team scoring at least one goal in all the matches they have played.
