All Ireland Champions Finish Year with title number four

All Ireland Champions Finish Year with title number
four

Recently crowned All ireland champions Donaghmoyne
wrapped up their wonderful year by completing the Monaghan double
yesterday by winning the league title 2-11 to 2-2 against Aghabog.

With the county championship, Ulster title and All Ireland all
ready in the bag it completes a clean sweep. However it was far
from easy in terrible conditions with Aghabog pushing the champions
to the limit. Aghabog led at the break 2-2 to 1-2 after playing
with the wintery elements at their back.

Donaghmoyne had got off to a blistering start racing 1-2 clear thanks
to a Aine Gilsenan goal. Two goals from Ellen McCarron however left
Aghabog in the driving seat at the break.

Donaghmoyne dominated the second half but great defending from
Aghabog ment this game did not swing the champions way untill the
final quarter. At the end of the third quarter the sides were back
on level terms before Donaghmoyne pulled away in the final eleven
minutes thanks to the scoring powers of Catriona McConnell. She
wrapped up the contest with a goal at the

death to finish with a persinal tally of 1-5.
