All the latest from Louth St. Fechins are crowned Intermediate Champions St. Fechins Ladies made it two in a row yesterday by defeating St Patricks Ladies GFC in the Louth Intermediate Final yesterday, thus adding to their title of Junior Champions in 2003. This was a great win for the Drogheda side captained by Liz McCormack. St. Fechins were leaders at half time, however St. Pats put up a good fight in the second half and came within two points of victory. Congratulations to Lee McEvoy who received player of the match and continued success to St. Fechins in the Intermediate Leinster Championship. Other News: Stabannon – Meanwhile Stabannon Ladies will welcome back Kim and Tara Lynch this week who have been in Greece for the Summer, no doubt having a good time in the sun, sand and sea. Newtown Blues – Congratulations to Vikki McGinn who was awarded player of the match in the Junior Final when Newtown Blues overcame a very surprising side St. Mary’s. Vikki who plays football for the County and for Newtown Blues was a well deserved winner on the day. Best wishes to Newtown Blues in the Leinster Intermediate Championship. St. Mary’s – St Mary’s proved to be an impressive side this being their first year in Junior football in Louth and we have no doubt that this team, particularly with players such as Lorraine Burns and Joanne Cunningham, will go far in the next sporting year in Louth. Noamh Malachi – Best wishes to Naomh Malachi who this Sunday represent Louth in the first round of the Senior Leinster Championship. Naomh Malachi won the Louth Senior County Championship by defeating Cooley Kickhams for the second year in a row. Congratulations to Sharon Drumgoole who received player of the match and best wishes to Naomh Malachi in the Leinster Championship. St. Vincents – St. Vincents formed a club this year for the first time and are based in Louth Village. St. Vincents have begun at underage level and this year are proving to be a strong side at both U12 and U14 levels.
