The Cappawhite midfielder led her side’s fight back against Clare to claim the 2008 TG4 Intermediate All Ireland title. The Premier County trailed by four points after a speculative shot from Magella Griffin resulted in a dramatic goal for the Banner County. But McDermott rallied her troops and Tipp mounted a comeback which saw them score six unanswered points to secure the Mary Quinn Memorial Cup. Speaking at the award presentation in Croke Park, Angie said, “It is a great honor to win this award and I would like to accept it on behalf of everyone involved in the Tipperary team.
